Who am I?
Veronika Maťúšová, professional translator and interpreter with valuable experience – I have translated around 8,000 standard pages handed over in time and in adequate quality and interpreted almost 400 hours. I focus mainly on texts from the fields of medicine, medical technology and pharmacology and on marketing texts (webpages, promotional materials). Besides specialised translation, I also work in literary translation – an updated list of my published translations is available at the website of o.z. DoSlov.
I graduated in Translation and Interpreting from Faculty of Arts of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, combination English – French, and during my studies, I have twice been awarded the 2nd place in “Prekladateľská univerziáda” competition (for literary and specialised translation).
Since 2016, I have been a member of the Slovak Association of Translators and Interpreters (SAPT) and Mensa Slovakia. In 2019, I became a member of SSPOL (Slovak Society of Translators of Scientific and Technical Literature) and I helped with the foundation of o.z. DoSlov, an association of literary translators, where my colleagues and I work to achieve better conditions in the field.
